yup, that time again.
start to finish…looks like i smiled the entire way, a big corny over the top smile, though there were plenty of tears shed and most probably a few curses. it may have rained most of the first day and down right poured, yet, this year the ride was more exceptional, more extraordinary and more impressive than my past rides.
AND i had Henry Gleason a fantastic first time rider with me and who smiled even more.
formydadandforme…really for EVERYONE…thank you for all your support
ps if you know anyone missing kermit he is happy in his new home waiting for next year’s ride!
Yesterday I finally did my long training ride. Really it is not a big deal, to some it is a walk in the park and to some it is unthinkable to ride a bike for 60 miles on a hot windy Saturday.
Though for me it is what I can do and what I do.
Right now there are too many dear souls in my little circle that are reeling and dealing with cancer.
And one of them, one whom has always made me want to live more and love more just had her first visit to Dana Farber.
She and her girls experienced the goodness of Dana Farber and felt in the right hands immediately after getting over the shock of having to enter a Cancer Institute. As they said from the Valet to her new Doctor, everyone was kind, knowledgeable and respectful.
That is why I get on my bike.
And that is why I ask you to be kind. We will never know who will have to walk thru those doors.
Here’s how to donate
Again, it is time to ask for your support for my 5th ride in the Pan Mass Challenge. Yes, again…how can I just keep on asking with out something in return for my supporters besides a thank you note?
So, this year along with writing appeal letters, writing a blog, riding my bike for hours on end, I am also offering my house, my boat and my time to raise money for the Dana Farber Institute.
You give I give.
for a donation of $2000
you get my 3 bedroom beachfront cottage for a week in August or September
for a donation of $300
you get an evening harbor cocktail cruise for 6 people on my boat

Also this year, I have a riding partner, Henry Gleason, a fine young man. Ours is a team of two, name to be determined…and photo coming soon.
My momentum is building, my enthusiasm is contagious and cancer is common, please let’s all do what we can.
Thank you in advance for your consideration
100% of your donation goes directly to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute here’s how to donate on line! please donate
With great luck, I am writing again for your support in my fundraising efforts for the Pan Mass Challenge this year. This week I passed my 5–year cancer free mark; indeed a fortune worth celebrating, though it also signifies my father being gone for five years.
Grieving one life and celebrating another, that’s cancer.
Cancer is beyond comprehension. Dana Farber not only is a leading institute in research and development in cancer prevention, detection and treatment they do it with conscientious compassion and deliberate consideration for the patient and family.
Everyday somehow, somewhere the effects of one small cell gone awry coaxes me to search for understanding and begs for my action. That is what The Dana Farber Institute does on a massive scale. Each day Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s ultimate goal is the eradication of cancer and the fear that it engenders.
With your help, I hope to raise over $5000 all of which goes to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

It’s my dad’s birthday, he would have been 83.
This picture of him with open arms, his crooked smile is just how I remember him. He greeted everyone with a hug and a smile.
How lovely. How simple.
I miss him.
He loved his birthday.
I will be donating $83 to Dana Farber today in his honor.
Please consider smiling, hugging or donating today. http://www2.pmc.org/profile/HH0034
